RECRUITER POV: WHAT WE’RE SEEING IN THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY

1) While hiring was at an all time high in October and November of ’23, December fell to an all time low

2) On a positive note, we did not see as many layoffs in Dec. ’23 as we have in past years

3) As one person put it, instead of “The Great Resignation”, we will be experiencing “The Great Stay”. Many candidates are choosing to stay where they are. A good majority base this decision on not wanting to leave in an unstable market but many also choose to not leave because they’re waiting on promotions and bonuses.

4)What that means for employers….if you have openings and need to hire quickly, it will make it more difficult than ever. You have to be able to show stability, good culture and great benefits to entice someone who is currently employed

5) The Election and the Olympics will have majority of advertising spend

6) We will probably see more hiring in the following areas: artificial intelligence, social media, content and media buying
